The young generation is not lost! There
is hope! Finally there is a Society for young and older women alike
to come together in unity and learn from one another. Theta Phi
Sigma Christian Sorority, Inc (The Pink Society) was founded by
Prophetess Jessica Martin in September of 2009. She is a 30 yr. old
wife and mother of three, full time employee, student, and is very
active in ministry. She is a member of Safe Harbor Church where
Pastor Hart Ramsey is the shepherd. In 2004 she received her
Biblical Studies diploma and honorary doctorates degree in Sacred
Music from the New Covenant Intl. Bible College (School of
Preparation). She graduated from Troy University Montgomery with a
Bachelors of Science - General Psychology with a Sociology minor in
Dec of 2009. She is continuing her education by working on her
master's in sociology or criminal justice.
She understands the
hurdles that young girls face transitioning from high school into
college, the obstacles they face in college, and the stress that can
come along with growing into womanhood. With a testimony of her own,
she knows the journey is not easy and wants to build a safe place for
women to gain spiritual, educational, and sisterly assistance in this
journey.
She has a heart for activism and as a young African
American woman she has accepted her calling to empower people through
her speech, music, and writing. She lives in Montgomery Al which is
rich in Civil Rights History. As a member of Alabama State
UniversityTheatre in 2001, she had the privilege to sing at the
opening of the Rosa Parks Museum at Troy University in Montgomery.
She also had the opportunity to meet Rosa Parks. When Jessica was a
student at Lanier High School she also had the opportunity to sing in
the school choir at the 16th Street Baptist Church in Birmingham
where the bombing took place and 4 innocent young African American
young ladies were killed during the civil rights movement. This
sparked a passion in her at a young age to give back to her
community.
She is a currently a member of the NAACP because she
wants to help make a difference.God has given her a heart to research
African American history and her own ancestry because she is learning
the importance of genealogy and "heritage". God began to
reveal to her that there is power in knowing who you are and where
you came from.
God has also given her a passion for young people.
She and her husband Min. Ronald Martin ministered for over 3 years on
the campus of Alabama State University to the students by assisting
the campus ministry. She also had the opportunity to sing at the
AIDS awareness program where she sang to AIDS victims at Lighthouse
Counseling Center Inc.
Jessica has also put on many different
programs for women and youth empowerment and enrichment.
Being a
Kingdom Advocate gave her a desire for change...Change in the
African American homes, churches, and youth community.
Her goal is
to help bring an awareness of God's love to the community hopefully
helping to prevent pre marital sex, teen pregnancy, gang activity,
and other delinquent behavior. She wants young women to value and
love themselves. She wants them to see themselves the way that God
sees them. Her heart can be felt through her songs especially "Just
to Love Me" and "Hold On". She is also a 2010
Montgomery Advertiser King Honors Recipient because of her efforts to
keep Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s dream alive. She will be featured
in their article for the MLK Day paper . The Montgomery Advertiser's
article was Living the Dream: 2010 King Spirit Honors recipients
